James Joyce's Dubliners: A Half Day's Adventure

Wonderland Productions

Theatre - 'till 30th September

at James Joyce Centre

HALF DAY’S ADVENTURE
In 1914 the epiphany that awakened the world to the battered yet tumultuous city of Dublin, her streets, and her people, was a modest book that would become a defining Irish classic, James Joyce’s short story collection Dubliners.

Wonderland’s Dubliners is a self-guided walking tour on headphones, which invites you on an historic walk of the streets and historic buildings in which Joyce set his short stories, whilst you listen to 7 of his classic stories in situ, as they are told and performed for you on headphones, by a large ensemble cast led by the celebrated Joycean actor Barry Mc Govern. The audio-guide also includes 14 extra feature tracks on Joycean Dublin and the history of the locations to which you tour.
Dubliners – A Half Day’s Adventure, focuses on the seven tales which occur inside the city centre.

‘Brilliantly delivered... an atmospheric journey through Edwardian Dublin with flawless dramatisations of the stories...it’s spine tingling stuff...If there’s any justice, this invigorating tour will become just as essential as the book that inspired it.’ Daragh Reddin Metro

‘The tour is extremely impressive... beautiful recordings of fabulous stories... and a large cast of inspirationally voiced actors... for anyone who loves Joyce it’s a must’
Kate O’Connor, QualityWaffle.ie

‘A thrilling experience. At times it verges on the ghostly.’ Louise Finn The Dubliner

‘a wonderfully conceived idea, walking the streets of Joyce's Dublin has a transporting effect that stays with you long after the Mp3 and giant earphones have been returned.’
Lauren O’Toole entertainment.ie

An accomplished adaptation...a treat for any fan’ Eithne Shorthall,
The Sunday Times.
